Strategy Workbench
From concluded tasks to a strategy update
The Workbench is not only where strategic thinking is gathered — it is where that thinking flows back into the strategy itself. When you finish working a topic, the conclusions you reach can become a structured update to an existing strategy, so a strategy keeps pace with what you have actually learned.
Working tasks in Reviews & Tasks
In the Reviews & Tasks tab, each topic can carry tasks — review the topic, validate an assumption, gather evidence, or decide whether it is material. As you complete a task, mark it done and write a short strategic conclusion: what you found and what it means for the strategy. The conclusion is what makes a finished task useful later.
Pushing tasks to Apply to Strategy
Once a task has a conclusion, push it to the Apply to Strategy tab. Pushed tasks are grouped by organization there, so you can gather several related conclusions before deciding to act. You can remove a task from the list at any time if it is no longer relevant.
Running the Update a strategy wizard
From Apply to Strategy, choose Update a strategy. Pick the strategy to update, confirm the concluded tasks to include, and add an optional note for extra context. Cogliva reads the conclusions and proposes targeted adjustments — section by section — that you can accept, edit, or supplement with your own. Nothing changes until you apply the adjustments you have chosen.
Every update is recorded
Applying adjustments creates a new revision of the strategy rather than overwriting it, so you keep a clear history of how the strategy evolved (see the related article on keeping a strategy current). The updated strategy can then be exported or used to refresh a tactical plan.
How to use this in Cogliva
- Complete a task and write its strategic conclusion before pushing it.
- Group related conclusions in Apply to Strategy, then run Update a strategy.
- Review each suggested adjustment, accept the ones you agree with, and apply.
