Getting Started
Securing your account with two-factor authentication
Because Cogliva holds your strategic thinking, every account is protected by two-factor authentication (2FA). It adds a second step to sign-in — a short code from an app on your phone — so a password alone is never enough to reach your workspace. This applies to everyone, including people who sign in with Google or Apple.
Setting it up
The first time you sign in, Cogliva guides you through setup. Open an authenticator app — such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or 1Password — and scan the QR code shown on screen. The app then generates a fresh 6-digit code every 30 seconds. Enter the current code once to confirm the link.
Save your recovery codes
After setup, Cogliva shows you a set of one-time recovery codes. Save them somewhere safe and separate from your phone. If you ever lose access to your authenticator app, a recovery code is the only way back into your account. You must confirm you have saved them before you can continue.
Signing in from then on
On future sign-ins, enter your password (or continue with Google or Apple) and then the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app. If your phone is unavailable, choose to use a recovery code instead — each code works once, and redeeming one prompts you to set up a new authenticator.
Managing 2FA from your account
- Regenerate your recovery codes at any time from your account settings — this replaces the old set.
- Reset your authenticator if you change phones, then re-enrol with the new device.
- If you are completely locked out, contact support and an administrator can reset your 2FA so you can enrol again.
How to use this in Cogliva
- Install an authenticator app on your phone before you set up your account.
- Scan the QR code at sign-up, confirm the 6-digit code, and save your recovery codes.
- Manage recovery codes and reset your authenticator from your account settings.
